The 396 TR embodies the exciting nature of its namesake trail the #396 located in the Prescott National Forest.  The 396 trail varies from a fast fun descent starting from the Senator Highway trail head, to a climbers challenge from the White Spar camp ground side. The dual nature of the trail is reflected in the versatility of our trail day / race day (TR) format allowing the frame to work seamlessly with two different wheel and tire size configurations available for bicycles today.  This gives you the option to fit smaller wheels with larger volume tires for “trail day” riding and fast descents.  And to have a second set of the larger size wheels with smaller volume tires for your event or “race day” and fast ascents.  Learn more about how the 396 TR is redefining what a “PLUS” bike can be.

Very responsive frame! Allows me to scrub less speed prior to corners and accelerate quickly out of them. Very comfortable geometry that eliminates any sluggish sensation and climbs exceptionally well. I am running 27.5 wheels with 2.8 tires and feel faster than ever. I love having all the benefits of plus size tires without sacrificing any handling. This frame goes where you point it and flies up hill!

Purchased the medium frame and running it as a midfat. Love it. Eagle 12 speed and a Reba up front. Very pleased with how it climbs and descends. Great bike and great price point!

Thanks utbackpacker! Looking forward to seeing you at the races tearing it up on the 396TR!

I built my TR396 over a month ago and somehow I grow more impressed with each ride. It truly does everything well. The handling is brilliant – very agile but never twitchy and it sticks to a line better than anything I’ve ridden. The balance is also superb; enabling me to consistently climb steep, technical sections of local trails that I’d previously been obliged to clip out and hike. I assume it’s mostly down to frame geometry, but I’m amazed at how much better this thing performs compared to other bikes I’ve ridden. Best of all, it’s just über fun to ride. I love it! Thanks for a great product.

Superb geometry and extreme grip allow much higher corner speeds. Handling is spot on, this bike goes where you point it. Also stays very neutral when airborne. Takes all the advantage of the plus tires, with no negatives.
